Frequently Asked
Is acupuncture effective for chronic pain?
Yes. Acupuncture has strong clinical evidence for managing chronic musculoskeletal pain, back pain, neck pain, sciatica, and myofascial pain. It works by reducing muscle tension, calming overactive nerves, and supporting circulation to areas that have been guarded or restricted for a long time.
How many sessions until I notice relief?
Many patients notice a shift in the first or second session. Lasting relief typically builds over a focused series. A common plan for chronic pain is weekly sessions for six to eight weeks, then spacing out to maintenance as the pattern resolves.
Do you do trigger point release?
Yes. Trigger point work is a core part of the practice for pain that is stuck in muscle tissue. The goal is to release the specific knots and tender bands causing referred pain and restricted movement, so the surrounding area can finally let go.
Does it hurt?
Not in the way most people expect. The needles are very fine and flexible. Most people feel little to no discomfort, and many describe the treatment as deeply relaxing. You may notice a gentle sensation of warmth, heaviness, or tingling, which is normal.
Do you accept insurance?
The practice does not bill insurance directly, but HSA and FSA accounts are accepted, and superbills are provided so you can submit for out-of-network reimbursement through your insurance plan.
Where is the clinic?
The practice is located in the heart of the West Village. The clinic is easily accessible from SoHo, Chelsea, the Financial District, and Brooklyn via the A, C, E, 1, 2, 3, and L trains.
